The Experience

With a turbulent history spanning over millennia, Tajikistan is a Central Asia-based country which has been home to several ancient cultures. This tour package serves as an opportunity to explore its capital, Dushanbe, boasting a mix of the old and the new, as well as the famous Hissar historical reserve capturing the imagination with its centuries-old ruins, stone medresas, and the former marketplace with a caravanserai.

The tour is complemented with a stay at the four star Atlas Hotel located in Dushanbe’s downtown. Guests can unwind and relax in the en suite rooms boasting traditional features, flat-screen TVs, and private bathrooms with toiletries. Some rooms come complete with seating areas and overlook the hotel’s garden. On site, there is a gift shop, while the Dushanbe cable car can be reached within a short walk.

The Itinerary

• Day 1: Flight from Dubai to Dushanbe
• Day 2: Arrival in Dushanbe and transfer to the hotel; leisure time until midday and transfer to Hissar Fortress which dates back to the 16th century; visitors can also visit the Registan - a square in front of the fortress, old and new madrasas, Sangin Mosque, as well as the caravanserai, and the Mausoleum of Mahdumi Abzam built over the grave of Khodja Mohamed Haivoki
• Day 3: Dushanbe city tour: travellers can see the imposing Somoni Monument erected to honour the Samanids, visit Central Asia’s biggest National Library which is home to approximately 10 million books, and stroll through the Rudaki Park named after an ancient poet considered the founder of Tajik culture; after lunch, the tour continues to the Palace of Nations, the official residence of the president, the flagpole construction, and to the Kohi Navruz palace complex which boasts intricate carvings, wooden ornaments and a picturesque garden
• Day 4: Leisure time and transfer to the airport for the flight back to Dubai
