Customers can tuck into a hearty meal, choosing starters such as American fries, onion rings, chili bowl or Rocket wings. This could be followed by sandwiches such as tuna salad, grilled chicken breast or BLT. Alternatively, diners can opt for burgers, with options including; The Original, with fresh shredded iceberg lettuce, tomato, chopped onions, relish, pickle, mustard and mayonnaise; the Houston with jalapeños, pepper jack cheese, iceberg lettuce, fresh tomato and a spicy sauce; or Route 66 with Swiss cheese, grilled mushrooms, grilled onions and mayonnaise. Ronn Teitelbaum opened the first Johnny Rockets restaurant in 1986 on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles.
